Let's Cowash! Our Curated Cleansing Conditioners
17th Apr 2026
Co-washing is when you swap out your sudsy shampoo and conditioner for a single product (this could be a rinse-out conditioner, cleansing conditioner, or "No-poo") having said that, they are not 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner either. Cleansing conditioners or cowashes usually look like conditioners, behave like conditioners, and cleanse your hair and scalp like a gentle, low suds shampoo would. Co-washing is often recommended for coarse, dry, thick, and/or color-treated hair and even sensitive scalps.
Using a cleansing conditioner, or cowash in between regular washes with a traditional shampoo, is also ideal if you workout regularly and feel the need to wash your hair frequently during the week. It is also recommended if your hair is in need of moisture, and needs a little break from using shampoo. Having said that, using a clarifying shampoo once a month is recommended to avoid buildup, and promote a healthy scalp.
Here's our curated list of our most loved cowashes/cleansing conditioners just for you:
