I am Valerie, the owner and founder of Love Thy HnS (Hair & Skin). I am a computer analyst, turned entrepreneur. I am passionate about many things; however, textured hair is my first love and what started my small business back in 2009. I discovered my natural texture in 2001 when I decided to stop relaxing my hair, as I was experiencing breakage on a regular basis. The new hair growth was cute, healthy and curly; therefore, being impatient, I had my first big chop that same year, and started my #naturalhairjourney. 

During my journey, I tested countless products, and spent a little fortune importing products to Canada for personal use, in search of the right products for my tight curls. After years of research, documenting, and experimenting with different techniques and products, I found what worked for my hair. Because of the lack of accessibility for curly hair products and resources on the Canadian market, my natural hair journey was not only difficult, it was also costly. I started Love Thy HnS with the hope to help you on that journey, and make it less difficult, but also less costly for you to find good and safe products, that you can always rely on. 

Love Thy HnS is about women empowerment through self-care, and acts of self-love. Two crucial acts that I have had to learn the hard way, after prioritizing work over my well-being for many years. After experiencing multiple miscarriages, and nearly losing my life in the process because of a medical error, it became imperative to take care of myself. Whether it is through feel good moments, caring for our textured hair, body, skin, mind and overall well-being, we now offer a wide selection of natural personal care products to help you on this journey called life.
